Roxanne

Roxanne doesn't have a lot of merchandise to her name, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to talk about!

Going by chronological order, the first official piece of Roxanne merchandise is a bookmark from August 2012, given in Japanese Pokémon Centers as part of a Hoenn Leaders Tournament promotion, where they sold a folder that came with the bookmarks.

This one!

For the looks of it, there was a very limited amount of them ever produced, though I haven't been able to find one for sale in a site I know is reliable.

I wasn't able to find the production date of the next two things, but given that they use Roxanne's original design I think it's reasonable to assume that they're the oldest piece of merchandise that Roxanne has.

Now you might be wondering why I said two things and then show three images, right? No? Well, I'm gonna tell you regardless: The last two are both sides of the same card, which I think is neat! Especially given the fact that you can't see Roxanne on the vertical side.

As of writing this, I ended up buying both of them from eBay and they should arrive at the beginning of April at most, I'll make sure to write a blog entry once they're here!

Next up we got another sort of card that served as a promotional code with the release of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire back in 2014, also being the first of these thingies to use her modern design!

Isn't that cool? That's also another card I'm on the lookout for, one day I'll have all of the Roxanne merchandise.

Up next we got the first appearance of Roxanne in the main Pokémon TCG line. Released in April 2015 and given as an award all across Japan during the Rayquaza Mega Battle event, with Roxanne's being given in the prefectures of Hokkaido, Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Yamagata, Fukushima and Niigata.

And we finally arrive at the first piece of merchandise that isn't a flat piece of cardboard, this time being a flat piece of tinfoil! ...Well, maybe not tinfoil, but it's a tin can badge.

I wasn't able to find a clearer or higher quality picture online, so thanks to Pokévault for keeping the only one I could find at least documented somewhere.

It was available in Japanese Pokémon Centers for an unspecified amount of time back in 2017, also seems to be as rare as the bookmark, since I haven't been capable of finding other information online.

But that was enough ventures into the third dimension, we should go back to flat pieces of cardboard, as Roxanne's most modern pieces of merchandise are part of the TCG once again, but this time being actual cards that are just dedicated to her!

Ta-da! The first three were featured in the Astral Radiance collection, with it releasing in April 2022 in Japan and in May 2022 in the west. The last one was instead featured in the Crown Zenith collection, releasing in Japan in December 2022 and in the west in January 2023.

And as of writing this, that's all the pieces of official merch that I've been able to find online. If you know any that I missed or even own some that are undocumented, please do let me know!
